A tiny but full of character Apple wood offering bowl. It measures 2 3/4" across and is about 1 1/2" high. What's special about this bowl is that it was turned rough and then dried. In the process, it cracked in numerous places. I then filled the natural cracks with Red Jasper. It's finished with an acrylic sealant and buffed it to a glossy shine. The bowl you purchase is the exact bowl pictured.
Metaphysically, Apple Wood is a powerful wood. It promotes peace and harmony. Apple resonates with feminine energy and is associated with Venus. It draws off the elements of earth and water. This wood seeks a companion of passion and good nature. One seeking to cause harm to others should not choose this wood. It is used for healing, love and remedial magic, as the wood itself is used in many medicinal practices. This wood also seeks a wielder of divine conquests and fortune-telling. Excellent for Divination.
Red Jasper is stone of physical strength and energy. Red Jasper stimulates gently and steadily, enhancing stamina and endurance, and increasing the amount of chi, or life force, in one’s aura. It is a stone of health and passion, and brings the courage to face unpleasant tasks and to rectify unjust situations. It provides vivid dream recall, and is a powerful stone for those who work with Earth energies to make a deep connection with Earth spirits and guardians of the leys and sacred sites.
The wood was cut from an apple tree that blew over in a storm on October 31 of 2017 and all of the work done in our shop here in New Gloucester Maine. Each bowl we make is hand turned, without the use of a replicator. They are each unique to themselves as we listen and feel the wood and turn it into what IT wants to be, not what we decide it should be. Unlike re-purposed bowls, these bowls are started and finished with intent and gratitude.
While we hate putting disclaimers on things we make, these bowls are intended for ritual use or decoration and NOT intended for use in the preparing or consuming of food. The finish on all of our bowls is considered food safe once cured, though, consuming anything from them is done at your own risk. Doing so may have a negative impact of the product's finish. Any cleaning of them should be done by hand and they should never be submerged in water.
